About the Jarman Centre
The Jarman Centre is designed to add to the enjoyment throughout the year of members of Girlguiding UK whatever their age. It is also available to schools and other organisations when not in use by our members – mostly daytime and some evenings during the week.
The Centre, which opened in 1988, is an attractive yet simple brick building, with an overhanging roof providing covered areas to link activities inside and outside. The main hall is open to roof level with high windows giving extra light. It is set in 13.5 acres of woodland, where there are four campsites, an archery area, and extensive tracks and trails.

Girlguiding Cambridgeshire East bought the site using proceeds from the sale of Haddenham Halt, a converted railway station that had served as a Brownie pack holiday home and Guide centre for 13 years. The County’s building fund was augmented by generous gifts from Cambridge City Division and Cambridge City Trefoil Guild from their bequests from Miss Marjory Jarman, so loved as ‘Jammie’.
