Jarman Centre Facilities
The Jarman Centre is the County’s Outdoor Centre at Newmarket. Equipped with the following facilities, it is an ideal venue for pack holidays and camps, or a day in the woodland. We also welcome units who would like to help with conservation projects.
House
Following major refurbishment, you can book either the Ground Floor or the Loft, or the Whole House if numbers require it. There is a minimum booking of 2 nights for the Ground Floor but the Loft may be booked for an overnight stay from around 4pm to 4pm.
The Ground Floor
is for 15 to 31 (24 young people + 7 adults max):
- 4 bedrooms each sleeping 6 in bunks
- 2 bathrooms each with 2 showers, 2 WCs, 3 washbasins
- 2 ensuite bedrooms with showers for leaders, sleeping 4 + 3
- Large hall with tables and chairs, and a snug area with log burner stove
- Smaller room with sink suitable for separate activities
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Fully accessible wet room
- Laundry room
The Loft
is for 6 to 19 people:
- 2 rooms with tables, chairs and mattresses
- Equipped kitchenette with sink, fridge, combination microwave oven,
toaster and kettle - 2 shower rooms, each with WC and washbasin
- Separate WC and washbasin
There is a selection of activities, games and trails that can be used by
residents and campers, stored in a cupboard accessible to all.
Campsites
- Oaks for up to 18 and Beeches for up to 36
- Sites can be booked independently or together
- Each site has its own water supply, paved fireplace and altar fire
- There is a central disposal point for chemical toilets
- A shared solid shelter, with electricity, gives emergency wet-weather
accommodation, plus 6 toilets and 6 cold-water basins

Archery
- Archery is available as a separate activity or as part of your

Woodland
- For wide games, Brownie Revels, sausage suppers etc.
- 2 Campfire circles
- Tracking and orienteering course
- Evening or day bookings
